Hillsboro Middle School has announced their honor roll and principal's honor roll for the third quarter.

A Battle of the Stars basketball shootout will be held at East Clinton High School on March 27.

Kindergarten registration for students living in the Lynchburg-Clay School District will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in the Lynchburg-Clay Elementary building. Students with last names beginning with A - L will register from 9 - 11:30 a.m. Students with last names beginning with M - Z will register from 1 - 3 p.m.

The McClain High School Drama Department will present the 1999 Peter Stone revival of “Annie Get Your Gun” Friday and Saturday, April 9-10, at 7:30 p.m. The musical is based on the true story of Ohio native Annie Oakley, a simple backwoods girl with a talent for shooting. Annie falls for vaudeville shooting ace Frank Butler, the star of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show, and the rest, as they say, is history.

The Ohio Senate has recognized INFOhio, the Information Network for Ohio Schools, for its two decades of service to Ohio students, parents and educators. Senate Resolution 163, adopted in February by the full Senate, was presented to INFOhio Executive Director Theresa M. Fredericka and other INFOhio leaders during a Senate Education Committee meeting on March 9, 2010, by committee chair Gary Cates (R-West Chester).

On Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, Lynchburg Clay High School held its third annual Science Fair.  Approximately 250 students designed a scientific experiment, conducted research, wrote a research report, and participated in a personal interview with a judge.  Judges for the event included retired and current teachers, professionals, and community members.  Projects ranged in topic from chemistry to biology and physics to genetics.

For genealogy enthusiasts, tracing family roots is likely to go only as far as recorded documents will attest. This spring, Southern State Community College offers people the opportunity to find out their own beginnings in the human race.

Bright Elementary School is one of 139 schools across the state of Ohio that was chosen to participate in the e3 Smart (Energy, Efficiency, Education) Program by American Electric Power program, sponsored by American Electric Power. This is a program designed to educate students on ways that their families can save energy and money.

Written largely in rhapsodic verse, this one-man show by Kenny Carnes delivers a rapid-fire cadence of rhyme and rhythm to weave a portfolio of stories from three generations of American heroes.
