Bright Elementary is pleased to announce the October Great PATHS kids for the 2010-11 school year. PATHS (Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies) is a program implemented at the school which promotes interpersonal relationships and understanding emotions.

A Family Fun Fitness Night was held at Buckskin Elementary School on Thursday, Oct. 14. The event was held to promote exercise and good nutrition as well as allow families the opportunity to come to school and be active together.

AGCO, Your Agriculture Company, a worldwide distributor and manufacturer of agriculture equipment, is the sponsor of a National FFA Collegiate Scholarship, awarded to Brad Keltner, a graduate of Lynchburg-Clay High School.

Southern State Community College has released its president’s and dean’s list for academic excellence for Summer Quarter 2010.

Brittany Waits, Bailey Walker, Nathan Hauke, and Ryan McCann, along with Mrs. Juillerat participated in the 3rd Annual Learn and Serve Fall Challenge in Columbus, held October 17-19.

Chatfield College entertained 200 alumni, faculty, staff, supporters, and community members at its first-ever homecoming celebration Oct. 16, 2010 at the St. Martin Campus located in Brown County.

Two students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. These students are Seth Darbyshire and William McKenna. Two students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Exams with scores of 3 or higher. The AP Scholars are Derek Boone and Haley Washington.
