The Hillsboro Lady Indians led after the first quarter, but that was all as the Miami Trace Lady Panthers woke up and took over the remaining three quarters. Following a strong second frame, MT cruised to a 61-33 win Saturday at HHS.

The McClain Lady Tigers gained their second South Central Ohio League win on Saturday as they defeated the London Lady Red Raiders 44-28 at McClain High School.

The Fairfield Lions dropped their first Southern Hills League contest of the season Friday night to the Ripley Blue Jays, falling by a score of 73-59.

The McClain Tigers battled and battled, giving their student section many reasons to cheer on their home team, but in the end the battle was just a tad bit too much for the Tigers to overcome. Clinton-Massie, playing their first game of the season, defeated MHS 73-70 in double overtime Friday night.

There was physical play in the paint, tough pressure defense and for good measure possibly an elbow or two, and one intentional foul as the Mustangs crashed the Wildcats' homecoming festivities 60-53.

The Rick VanMatre coaching legacy will live on forever as the 28-year coach of the McClain Tigers was recently named to the 2012 Class of the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame.

A 16-point fourth-quarter surge by the host Washington Lady Blue Lions squad was the difference Wednesday night, putting them in the lead for good, as they defeated the visiting McClain Lady Tigers 39-32 for a South Central Ohio League win.
