  • Tigers finish undefeated in SCOL

    For the second consecutive season, the McClain Tigers boys soccer team has gone undefeated in the South Central Ohio League. MHS defeated the Miami Trace Panthers 4-1 Tuesday night at Miami Trace High School, at Panther Stadium, securing a SCOL mark of 11-0-1 this season.
  • HHS seniors recognized
    On Monday, Oct. 10, before the Hillsboro vs. London volleyball game, HHS honored two senior players: Kaylee Ballein (4) and McCaylee Priest (26). They both played their last home game for the Indians Monday.

    Fairfield High School is going to have to clear room in the trophy case very soon. It wasn't easy, and the Fayetteville Lady Rockets didn't back down, but in the fifth and match-deciding game the Lady Lions did what they needed to do to get the job done, with the win giving them the Southern Hills League Division II title Monday night at Grandle Gymnasium in front of a "white-out" student section.

    The Fairfield boys cross-country team won the McClain Invitational Saturday with 48 points.

    On Saturday at Mitchell Park in Greenfield, the Lady Wildcats of Whiteoak took home first place out of 10 participating schools in the McClain Invitational.

    Let's start this week with a big congratulations to the Hillsboro Indians football team. No team in any sport needs to go winless during a season, and I'm happy for all the players and coaches who worked their butts off Friday night, and all season, to earn that first win of 2011.

    The McClain Tigers didn't suffer a championship setback on Thursday; in fact, they continued to work toward their next goal. MHS stayed undefeated on Thursday by defeating the Clinton-Massie Falcons 2-0 at CMHS.
