Lady Tigers fall at Clinton-Massie

CLARKSVILLE — Playing their third game in five days, the McClain Lady Tigers were unable to get anything going against the Clinton-Massie Lady Falcons Wednesday. MHS had no answer for CM, falling 51-28 Wednesday at CMHS.

In the past five days, MHS has played Hillsboro (Saturday), Lynchburg-Clay (Monday) and Clinton-Massie on Wednesday. They are 2-1 in that span of games.

The Lady Tigers (1-1, 3-2) shot 24-percent from the field (11-of-46) and 25-percent from the free-throw line (1-of-4) in the loss, as they were held to single-digit scoring in three of the four quarters played.

CM led 12-2 after the first quarter and 15-9 at halftime. The Lady Tigers held CM to three points in the second quarter.

In the third, MHS was outscored 10-8, and in the fourth, they were outscored 16-11.

The Lady Falcons shot 41-percent from the field (16-of-39) and 100-percent from the free-throw line at 6-of-6.

McClain was led in scoring by freshman Shania Massie with nine points, all from three second-half 3-pointers. Sammy Rooks followed with eight points (two second-half 3-pointers) and Taylor Faulconer with six points.

Kaitlyn Faulconer and Tara Karnes each had two points, and Jenna Perie scored one point.

For the Lady Falcons, Mary Moyer led with 13 points (a game-high), and Kasey Uetrecht netted 10 points. Moyer, Brittany Smith and Hannah Smith all sank one 3-pointer each.

Also scoring for CM were: Brianna Machado (4), Brittany Smith (5), Hannah Smith (3), Allyson Monnin (2), Erin Fair (2) and Sydney Brackemyre (2).

The Lady Tigers had nine fouls and CM committed seven. MHS totaled 13 turnovers and CM had 20.

MHS will play again on Saturday night when they travel to take on Eastern Brown, of the Southern Hills League. CM will face the Washington Lady Blue Lions (on the road) on Saturday. Both CM and WCH are undefeated in the SCOL.
