    Trailing by as much as 21 points in the third quarter, the McClain Tigers turned things around by taking advantage of Miami Trace miscues, going on scoring run, playing tough defense and holding off a final shot attempt by the Panthers to gain second place in the South Central Ohio League with a 61-60 victory Saturday night at Miami Trace High School.

    Though they didn't play their best game of the season the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs did what they needed to do, and in the process won a Division III SE District Sectional championship as they defeated Southern Hills League foe Peebles 45-35 Saturday afternoon at Valley High School in Lucasville.

  • Orr leaves sideline for MHS AD's office
    After the conclusion of the 1970 football season, Coach Paul Orr of Greenfield McClain submitted his resignation as head football coach in order to concentrate on his position as director of athletics. He was replaced by Jay Knierim. Knierim hailed from Michigan. He had been head football coach at Marysville, Ohio for two or three years.

  • Lady Indians end season against Circleville
    The Hillsboro Lady Indians led for a majority of their Division II SE District Sectional quarterfinal, but in the final frame their season came to an end as the Circleville Lady Tigers rallied from behind for a 49-43 victory at Adena High School.
