On June 24, five members of the Hillsboro FFA chapter traveled to Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum for the Ohio Leadership Camp.

On July 25, the Hillsboro FFA held its July meeting at Ashley and Taylor Chaney's house.

On July 6, 22 Hillsboro FFA members traveled to Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum to attend the fourth session of Ohio FFA Camp.

The newly elected officers for the Hillsboro FFA Chapter met at Hillsboro High School for the first day of their officer retreat. They started off the day with some team-building exercises. After a lot of working together as well as thinking together, they completed all of the obstacles that the advisors had in store for them.

Ms. Karen Trout attended the New Apostolic Church in Cincinnati while in college from 1989-90. She now teaches at St. Mary Catholic School in Hillsboro, and has remained friends with the members there. This year, the same Cincinnati congregation chose to help Ms. Trout's school as one of their community projects.

A group from the McClain FFA chapter competed at the Ohio State Fair in the Ohio State 4-H Livestock Judging Contest.

Seven Bright Elementary teachers traveled to Hillsboro Middle School and joined 20 other area educators for a weeklong science and literacy integration training workshop. The program, called NonFiction Texts in Inquiry based Science, (NFTI) is funded by an Ohio Mathematics Science Partnership grant, a federal MSP initiative which is awarded and administered by the Ohio Department of Education.

The Lynchburg Masonic Lodge 178 is proud to announce that the winner of the Carl Walton Memorial Scholarship for 2016 is Emily Roush.

The Greenfield Elementary staff members are excited to begin the 2016-2017 school year.

The Adena Health Foundation is continuing its commitment to local students, pursuing careers in health care. For the 2016-17 school year, the Foundation has awarded more than $90,000 in scholarships to 74 students. The 2016 class of recipients is the largest in the program’s history.
