Adena Health Foundation awards $90,475 in scholarships

The Adena Health Foundation is continuing its commitment to local students, pursuing careers in health care. For the 2016-17 school year, the Foundation has awarded more than $90,000 in scholarships to 74 students. The 2016 class of recipients is the largest in the program’s history.
“The Adena Health Foundation is committed to investing in our community’s future caregivers,” said Ralph Metzger, the Foundation’s Executive Director. “In a way, the education of these students is in our hands today; while tomorrow, our health will be in theirs.”
Since 2002, the Adena Health Foundation has awarded more than $638,000 in scholarships to area students, all studying for a variety of health care professions.

The scholarship program is made possible by the fundraising efforts of Adena’s Volunteer Advisory Council and the Adena Women’s Board. Additionally, generous contributions from Adena caregivers, former scholarship recipients and the public also contribute to the funding.
Qualified students must be working toward a degree in health care and live in Adena’s 12-county service area. Scholarship applications are available in the spring of each year. Information and application forms are posted on www.adena.org.
