    Things got back to normal for the Fairfield Lions Tuesday night at Grandle Gymnasium. Headed into the Southern Hills League contest winless on the year, all of that was tossed aside after 32 minutes of basketball with the Lions gaining win No. 1 of the year, defeating the Fayetteville Rockets, 65-51.

    Monday night belonged to the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats. In their first game back, in the new year, the Lady 'Cats controlled the tempo and second-half scoring for a 57-39 Southern Hills League win over Highland County rival Fairfield. The win was their first of the season.

  • Call it a comeback: Tigers rally against Lions for 2nd straight win
    Pressure on both sides of the court by the McClain Tigers completely flipped a Highland County rivalry matchup around Tuesday night at McClain High School. The Tigers put together a 21-0 scoring run in a span of under eight minutes near the end of the third and start of the fourth quarters to defeat the Fairfield Lions, 60-47.

    In a season of transition for the Fairfield Lady Lions, they took a positive step forward Thursday, despite falling to the North Adams Lady Green Devils, 44-28 in Southern Hills League play at Grandle Gymnasium.

    Fairfield Athletic Director, Matt Carson and Fairfield Athletic Booster President, Tom Purtell announced today the formation of the newly formed Fairfield Local High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

    Two area high schools will participate in upcoming Foundation Games to benefit local charities, asking fans to bring canned food items or monetary donations in honor of the Ohio High School Athletic Association Foundation’s community service initiative, “OHSAA Foundation Service Week.”
