LEESBURG — Having just enough players healthy to have a complete team on the field Monday evening, the Fairfield Lady Lions did more than enough to earn their fourth win of the year. FHS took advantage of opportunities for a 5-0 win over the Peebles Lady Indians.
The win puts the Lady Lions at 4-4.
"I tell the girls to take advantage of opportunities, and (Monday) they did that," FHS coach Sam Spargur said. "I tell them when they see an opportunity on the field, go for it."
Fairfield was led by Kaitlin Evans with a hat-trick, while Briana Evans scored her first career goal, and rounding out the scoring was Courtney Huff, who got the scoring started for the Lady Lions.
Fairfield scored their first goal with 21:45 left on the first-half clock when Huff scored off a rebound opportunity for the 1-0 lead.
Again, the Lady Lions tools advantage of "opportunities."
