    The Fairfield Lady Lions returned to Southern Hills League play in a big way Tuesday afternoon by defeating the Lynchburg Clay Lady Mustangs 23-1 at LCHS.

    The ninth annual Fairfield Alumni Basketball Tournament was held Saturday, April 3. There were 49 participants in the event, and there were a number of competitive games throughout the day. Players from the classes of 2008 and 2009 won this year's tournament.

    LEES CREEK - Tying the game in the top of the seventh wasn't enough for the Fairfield Lions Saturday afternoon. With the scored deadlocked at five headed into the bottom of the seventh the East Clinton Astros used small ball to defend their home field, defeating the Lions 6-5.

    Twenty-one runs in four innings at the plate. The Fairfield Lions were hitting on all cylinders from the batter's box on Wednesday as they easily defeated the Ripley Blue Jays 21-2 at Fairfield High School.

    After a disappointing extra inning one run loss at Westfall over the weekend, the Fairfield Lady Lions returned to Southern Hills League action in a big way by blanking the Ripley Lady Blue Jays 9-0 Tuesday. Sophomore pitching ace Lauren Larrick was the main attraction at Fairfield High School by tossing a no-hitter, with 11 strikeouts.

    Hitting with high winds was the name of the game Saturday afternoon at Westfall High School. Both Fairfield and Westfall scored in double digits, but the Mustangs outlasted the Lions 11-10 as the game was called in five innings due to high winds and dust.

In the end, the Lady Mustangs were too much for the Lady Lions to handle, falling 5-4 in nine innings.
