  • Rite Aid Pharmacy welcomes Erin Stafford
    Rite Aid Pharmacy in Hillsboro has added a new registered pharmacist to its professional staff. Erin Stafford, a Hillsboro native, has joined Amy Williams and Marc Queen as the third pharmacist, along with several certified pharmacy technicians.

  • GNG, 937 Ministries sponsors 'Free Sale'
    The Good News Gathering and 937 Ministries will hold a Free Sale (where everything is free) on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 8 a.m. to noon in the Wharton Building at the Highland County Fairgrounds. New and used clothes, toys and household goods will be available, and there will also be an area for kids to shop for parents' gifts.

    The village of Lynchburg will host its 19th Annual Village Christmas this year on Dec. 9 and 10 from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. both days.

    The Highland County Democratic Women and the Highland County Democratic Central and Executive Committee will hold their annual joint carry-in Christmas Dinner and Auction on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the County Administration Building.

    The Hillsboro Garden Club held its monthly meeting at the Floral Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 15. President Larry Moore called the meeting to order. All members recited The Pledge of Allegiance.

  • Leesburg Library plans for holidays
    The Leesburg Library Merry Money Store will be open from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3. Please bring your child and their Merry Money during your pre-assigned shopping time to purchase gifts. The elves will be here to assist your children with their Christmas shopping while parents can enjoy browsing the library and munching on some holiday refreshments.
