On Monday, April 18, the Whiteoak High School Task Force made a trip to Bright Elementary. For a few weeks, some of the members have been filling 1,000 eggs with candy and it all paid off when we hid them everywhere on the playgrounds.
The Lynchburg-Clay Athletic Boosters recently donated the proceeds from the 7th annual 300 Club Dinner. It was a great success and the Athletic Boosters were able to donate $14,000 to the Board of Education to assist in continuing the completion of the Outdoor Athletic Complex.

The University of Rio Grande, in cooperation with Shawnee State University and The Ohio State University’s South Centers, will be offering the University of Rio Grande Emerson E. Evans School of Business, MBA in Entrepreneurship program on the campus of Shawnee State University.
Shawnee State University President Rita Rice Morris met with U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) at his Fourth Annual Ohio College and University Presidents’ Conference with more than 50 other presidents across Ohio in Washington, D.C. in March.
Tracy Linder, a Hillsboro High School Spanish teacher, has been selected for the NEH Summer Scholar Program. Linder was selected to participate in the NEH Summer Scholar Program for 2011.
The Whiteoak High School Task Force had a bake sale and gear sale for Anna's Army. Several more activities are being planned to help raise money to fight Cystic Fibrosis.
Thomas Bohl, a graduate of Lynchburg-ClayHigh School and a senior biochemistry and molecular biology major at The College of Wooster, received the John W. Chittum Prize in Chemistry at Wooster's 41st Annual Recognition Banquet.
