Coming next month to Southern State Community College’s Appalachian Gateway Center is the annual Holiday Heritage Festival and Sale. Open to the public, this event will take place 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at the college’s South Campus, 12681 U.S. Route 62, near Fincastle, just north of U.S. Route 32.

Southern State Community College now offers southwestern Ohio professionals access to sought-after non- degree workforce education programs developed by the nation’s leading universities. Delivered 100 percent online, these programs feature content developed by schools such as Villanova University, the University of San Francisco and Tulane University.

On Friday, Oct. 29, Mrs. Shull's 7th and 8th period French 2 class marched down the halls to several of the classrooms at Hillsboro High School and played the French National Anthem, called "La Marseillaise."

This year at Hillsboro City Schools held a poster contest in the middle school set up by Janet Fair the Student Assistant and Prevention Specialist and the Middle Schools Art Teacher, Sarah Horsley.

The Southern State Community College Board of Trustees will meet 6 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 10, in Room 303 of the college’s North Campus, 1850 Davids Drive, Wilmington.
