Chatfield College is pleased to invite the community to Sister Cecilia Huber’s Annual Christmas Concert, entitled “Gloria.” The event will be held on Friday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Chapel on Chatfield’s St. Martin Campus. A punch and cookies reception will immediately follow.

Hillsboro Christian Academy's K-11 students organized a "packing day" for  Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes on Friday, Nov. 4 from 1-2:30 p.m. The school's goal was 55 boxes, and 67 boxes were packed. Each class donated items for the shoe boxes, such as toys, hard candy, hygiene products and school supplies.

Fall Spirit Fest will be held at McClain Auditorium Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.

Gov. John R. Kasich has appointed Gary Douglas Paine of New Albany in Franklin County to serve as a member of the Shawnee State University Board of Trustees for a term beginning November 4, 2011 and ending June 30, 2019.

All Saints Day was observed at St. Mary Catholic School on Nov. 1.

School groups grades 6 through 12 are challenged to build the most innovative and thrilling amusement park ride model using only K’NEX pieces. A select group of K’NEX designers and Cedar Point ride engineers and officials will choose five winners to exhibit their creations at Cedar Point during Math & Science Week.

Four players on the Southern State Community College volleyball team were honored during the Ohio Collegiate Athletic Conference annual tournament held Oct. 22 at Ohio Christian College in Circleville.

The McClain High School girls soccer team conducted a fundraising activity by sponsoring a dance to benefit breast cancer treatment. The team held a Junior Dance and raised a total of $607.
