Hillsboro Christian Academy's K-11 students organized a "packing day" for  Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes on Friday, Nov. 4 from 1-2:30 p.m.

The school's goal was 55 boxes, and 67 boxes were packed. Each class donated items for the shoe boxes, such as toys, hard candy, hygiene products and school supplies. For the "packing day," students were paired and filled the boxes using a few of each of the categories of items.

The National Collection Week for shoe box gifts is Nov. 14-21.

Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child, a project of international Christian relief and evangelism organization Samaritan’s Purse (www.samaritanspurse.org), headed by Franklin Graham, has hand-delivered more than 85 million gift-filled shoe boxes to needy children in some 130 countries.
