It was another night of hugs, handshakes, good food and great fellowship at the annual Highland District Hospital Foundation Holiday Ball. And it was a record-setting night Saturday evening as approximately 250 people were on hand for the popular event, held for the first time at Creekview Barn off of Fall Creek Road near Samantha.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) recently finished the 2016 dredging season, having removed more than 1 million cubic yards of dredge material from state park lakes and other state properties. The 1 million cubic yards of sediment is the most that has ever been removed in the history of the state’s dredging program.

Highland Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) attended the Area 5 winter meeting held on Dec. 7 at Emmett Chapel United Methodist Church in Circleville. The meeting featured speeches, presentations, the swearing in of officials and award presentations.
