You better watch out: Santa comes to town Saint Nick visits Hillsboro ahead of Christmas Day

Lead Summary
By
Steve Roush-
’Twas the fortnight before Christmas, and through Hillsboro town…

The children were giddy, Santa Claus was around.

At Five Points, at SATH’s breakfast, Saint Nick made his presence.

At the Masonic lodge, Santa gave kids early presents.

He walked around uptown, he stopped at Slow & Low.

During the Christmas Parade, the kiddies were aglow.

While riding a float, Santa waved to the masses.

But he reminded the kids: He gives no free passes.

He told the local newspaper nearly all the kids have been good.

Yet he wanted to make one thing perfectly understood.

Even though Christmas is not far away…

One naughty act can make a whole year of niceness go by the way.

Santa checks the list twice, he judges the year by its whole.

So be nice and get presents, not a big lump of coal!
