Wayne and Janet Donie were honored Wednesday, Dec. 7 at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Champions dinner for their significant ongoing contribution and support of the organization.
Cincinnati Children’s, a nonprofit academic medical center established in 1883, is one of the oldest and most distinguished pediatric hospitals in the United States. It is a leading medical research institution and teaching hospital consistently ranked as one of America's best children's hospitals by U.S. News & World Report.
Mr. Donie shared remarks with those in attendance, memorializing his late wife, "Jan," who passed away on Sept. 14, 2015, and their son, Peter, who passed away shortly after childbirth.
Mr. Donie expressed his deep gratitude for the care provided by Cincinnati Children's Hospital and for the recognition of their contribution.
"God bless all who work at Cincinnati Children's, as their work often has them addressing challenges few of us can even imagine," Mr. Donie said. "Thank God for His gift to us of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital."
With more than 600 registered beds, Cincinnati Children’s had more than 1.2 million patient encounters and served patients from all 50 states and 68 countries in fiscal year 2015.
