The Foster J. Boyd, MD, Regional Cancer Center and the American Cancer Society have teamed up once again to encourage women to take a few minutes out of their busy morning routine to pause and consider their risk for breast cancer.

Ted Strickland is submitting nine applications to the U.S. Department of Transportation for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act TIGER (Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery) Discretionary Grant Program.

Judge Mary Jane Trapp has announced her candidacy for Ohio Supreme Court. Trapp will be running for the seat currently held by Judge Judy Lanzinger. The announcement took place this week at the Ladies’ Gallery of the Statehouse.

As we look ahead to fall, we begin to think about pumpkins and other squash. We love to use them as decorations and they provide many tasty dishes too, but we may wonder about the nutrition content of these foods.

The 39th graduating class of Southern State Community College’s practical nursing program was honored during a special ceremony held  Aug. 27, at the Central Campus.

Hillsboro City Council passed a resolution for the design and construction for an Environmental Infrastructure Improvements Project at the Sept. 14 council meeting held at the Highland County Justice Center.

The Southern State Community College Theatre Department will hold auditions for the upcoming fall production of “The Elephant Man” 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on Southern State Community College’s Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro. Auditions are open to both students and the public. The play will take the stage Nov. 13-15.
