All county fire units respond to New Market brush fire

;>All Highland County Fire units have responded to a brush fire in the 6000 block of East New Market Road.

According to the Highland County Sheriff's Office, the call reporting the fire came in at approximately 12:30 p.m. Sunday. 

The Hillsboro Fire and Rescue, Paint Creek Joint Fire and EMS, Leesburg North Joint Fire and EMS, Mowrystown Fire Department, Marshall Fire Department, Brush Creek Fire Department and Winchester Fire Department have all responded to the scene with manpower, brush units and tanker trucks. Lynchburg fire department is doing station coverage, but is also responding to an emergency run in their area. The Paint Creek department is also responding to a field fire on Westfall Road in Buckskin Township and Ross County. 

Units in neighboring counties are on standby to cover all other Highland County runs while local units battle the fire in New Market.
