High wind warning issued for Tuesday, Oct. 26
The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a high wind warning which is in effect from 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26 until 8 p.m. this evening.
Strong winds will develop ahead of an approaching cold front, the NWS said. Winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts reaching 60 mph are expected.
Motorists in high-profile vehicles should exercise caution until the winds subside, the NWS said.

Today's forecast calls for showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Some of the storms could be severe. Highs will be near 74. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. 
Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8pm. Some of the storms could be severe. Low around 48. Breezy, with a west wind 20 to 23 mph becoming southwest 9 to 12 mph. Winds could gust as high as 43 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. 
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Breezy, with a south wind 8 to 11 mph increasing to between 20 and 23 mph. Winds could gust as high as 34 mph. Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 43. Southwest wind between 11 and 15 mph. 
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 55. Breezy, with a west wind between 15 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 35. 
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 53. Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 32.
