Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District seeks on-call firefighters

The Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District is actively seeking local residents to join its team of paid on call (volunteer) firefighters/EMTs and is actively seeking applications for the
position of part-time firefighter.
Paid on-call members are utilized on an as-needed basis during times of emergency but are encouraged to participate all aspects of the
department’s day-to-day operations. Members must participate in mandated trainings to maintain required hours to keep state
certification and are encouraged to take an active part in the Paint Creek Firefighters Association.
The department will provide the required state training in both firefighting and emergency medical technician. Paid on-call members
are not required to both at this time but will be encouraged for further advancement for part-time and full-time job positions when
they become available.
Part-time volunteer applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED, have a valid driver's license, and pass required medical/physical exam and physical agility test, criminal background check, and drug pre-employment screening.
Starting Jan. 1, 2011, part-time firefighters will be scheduled in 12-hour shifts from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. & 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. and any other shifts determined by administration.
Part-time firefighter applicants are required a minimum of FF 1B 120 hour certification, a minimum of EMT – Basic certification, must have and maintain current certification of all Fire and EMS to their appropriate level, and must have a valid Ohio driver's license in effect at all times.
Those eligible for both positions will be expected to do the following:
• Participates in fire activities including fire suppression, Emergency Medical Service, rescue, public assistance, fire investigation, fire prevention, pre-incident planning, Fire Company
training, public education, routine maintenance of apparatus, equipment and fire department facilities within the scope of their certification level.
• Acquaints themselves with the duties as far as possible of the other personnel in their station, so as to be prepared to perform such duties as may be required by the OIC.
• Recognizes and accepts that their profession is increasingly technical and involves at times the use of many talents and they shall study to improve their knowledge and skills.

• Acquires the aptitudes and abilities for advancement through study and application.
• Obeys orders, cooperates with fellow firefighters and officers, presents a neat appearance, and maintains the conduct of a moral person.
