Hillsboro High School presents “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”
“You find an open door (into the mind). One no one knows about. And once you’ ve crossed its threshold, you will find not one mind but two. Two streams within the consciousness, one on the surface, the other subterranean.” So explains Dr. Henry Jekyll of his path downward in discovering his darker side in this shocking version of Robert Louis Stevenson’ s “ Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher, playing at the Hillsboro High School, Nov. 5-6 at 7:30 p.m. and again on Nov. 7 at 3 p.m.
On the fog-bound streets of Victorian-era London, Henry Jekyll's (played by Jerry Bailey) experiments with exotic "powders and tinctures" have brought forth his other self—Edward Hyde, a sensualist and villain free to commit the sins Jekyll is too civilized to comprehend. When Hyde meets a woman (Kat Castle) who stirs his interest, Jekyll fears for her life and decides to end his experiments. But Hyde has other ideas, and so the two sides battle each other in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse to determine who shall be the master and who his slave.
This classic tale of depravity, lust, love and horror also features the talents of: Brynna Boone, Cody Crothers, Ali McKenna, Mikaela Morgan, Quinn Pickering-Polstra, Nick Reed, Kayla Savage, and Caleb Tong.
“Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” is directed by Benjamin Gullett, crew direction by Bronwyn Jones and Katie Manns, and stage managed by Kelly Devine and Meghan Hilterbran. Fulfilling other crew positions are: Emily Archibald, Jacqueline Burnett, James Carter, Micaela Countryman, Olivia Docter, Lacee Emery, Amie Griffith, Jordan Herman, Meredith Keister, Cody Nixdorf, Jennifer Nixdorf, Cody Pollard and McCaylee Priest.

Seating for “ Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” is extremely limited, as it is presented in a very intimate setting, making only sixty seats available per performance.
