Highland County Sports Schedule for the week of Feb. 5-11 (varsity only).

Wednesday (Jan. 31) was a tough game for the Whiteoak Wildcats as they lost a road non-conference contest to the Clermont Northeastern Rockets, 53-40. 

Playing a rescheduled game on Wednesday evening (Jan. 31), the Hillsboro Lady Indians defended their home court with a non-conference win over a Highland County counterpart, the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats, 57-47. 

The Southeast District of the OHSAA announced Sunday afternoon the 2024 sectional/district brackets for girls basketball teams. 

Playing in a tough road environment at Peebles High School Tuesday night, the Whiteoak Wildcats lost in very close fashion, falling in their Southern Hills Athletic Conference game to the host Peebles Indians by a single point at 51-50. 

The Whiteoak Wildcats traveled to Northwest High School Saturday night and fell to the host Mohawks, 57-44.

On Friday night (Jan. 26), the Whiteoak Wildcats went on the road to battle with the host Fayetteville Rockets, but it was the hosts who were the winners as they defeated the Wildcats, 66-53.

The Highland County showdown between the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs and Whiteoak Lady Wildcats saw the host LCHS team defeat their Southern Hills Athletic Conference counterpart Whiteoak, 55-47 Thursday at LCHS.

Whiteoak senior Jaylie Parr put her name in the Lady Wildcats’ record book Wednesday night, as she scored her 1,000th career point in a 66-28 WHS win over the visiting Manchester Lady Greyhounds. 

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats suffered a Southern Hills Athletic Conference loss on Monday night (Jan. 22), falling by a 74-36 score at North Adams. 

The Ohio High School Athletic Association released the updated statewide rankings for girls and boys basketball Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) on Wednesday.

A late 3-pointer by the home team Fairfield Lady Lions pushed the game against the visiting Whiteoak Lady Wildcats into overtime on Thursday night. Though FHS was the team with the momentum going into OT, it was Whiteoak who battled and earned the Southern Hills Athletic Conference win by a 52-47 score at Grandle Gymnasium.
