Volleyball Report: Hillsboro, McClain, Lynchburg-Clay, Fairfield and Whiteoak all take the court

Hillsboro defeats Wilmington
Playing three sets in a non-conference home match on Wednesday, Sept. 17, the Hillsboro Lady Indians defeated the Wilmington Lady Hurricane at HHS.
Hillsboro won with scores of 25-16, 25-20 and 25-23.
Hillsboro totaled 26 kills in the win, with Tylee Davis leading with 13 and Ryan Wagoner had 11. HHS also had kills from Riley Pence (one) and Marianne Mycroft (one).
In serving, Hillsboro totaled eight aces with Emmalee Young having four, Kayla Seeling with two, and gaining one each were Pence and Wagoner.
Young also collected a blocked shot for the Lady Indians, while in digs as a team HHS had 49. Davis led with 13 digs, and next was Allie Roush with 12. Also with digs were Macy Fauber (six), Josie Rhoades (four), Wagoner (six), Seeling (five), Mycroft (one) and Pence (two).
The assists leader was Seeling with 25 and Young had one.

Lady Lions gain county rivalry win over Whiteoak
On Thursday, Sept. 18, the Fairfield Lady Lions defeated rival Whiteoak in three sets for the SHAC victory.
FHS won by scores of 25-15, 25-7 and 25-17 over Whiteoak at WHS.
The Lady Lions had Emma Ayres finish with three aces and four digs, while teammate Alyssa Bales totaled two aces and 12 digs.
Addison Cannon totaled three kills, three aces, one dig and four blocks. Jaeden Drury ended the match with two kills, one dig and one block.
Kinsey Drury finished with one assist and two digs. Kaitlyn Eidenier had one dig. The Lady Lions also had Jorja May total three kills, one assist and five digs.
Ally Maynard ended the match with three aces and one dig. Remi Moon against Whiteoak had 20 kills, one assist, one ace and eight digs. Paisley Stahlhut had one kill, 26 assists, one ace and four digs.

Hillsboro falls in FAC match to Miami Trace
Playing a five-set thriller on Thursday, Sept. 18, the Hillsboro Lady Indians were unable to secure a Frontier Athletic Conference win as the Miami Trace Panthers won on the road at HHS in five sets.
MTHS won first at 25-19, and they won the second set at 25-18. HHS responded with a set-three win at 25-22 and a set-four win at 25-20. In the fifth set (best of 15), the Lady Panthers won at 15-9.
For the Lady Indians, kills included: Riley Pence (two), Ryan Wagoner (18), Kayla Seeling (five), Tylee Davis (17), Marianne Mycroft (one) and Emmalee Young (five).
Aces for the Lady Indians included: Wagoner (three), Josie Rhoades (two), Young (one) and Macy Fauber (two).
Wagoner led Hillsboro with 19 digs, and Davis was next with 18. Also with digs were Pence (three), Allie Roush (nine), Rhoades (eight), Mycroft (two), Young (three) and Fauber (two).
Seeling totaled 38 assists for the Lady Indians, while others with assists were Roush (two), Davis (four) and Rhoades (one).
HHS totaled 85 service receptions with Roush having 25 and Wagoner with 22. Also on the list for service receptions were Davis (10), Rhoades (five), Young (six) and Fauber (17).

McClain falls in 3 sets to Chillicothe
Playing on the road at Chillicothe High School, the McClain Lady Tigers lost in three sets in their Frontier Athletic Conference game to the host Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers.
Chillicothe won over MHS by scores of 25-11, 25-6 and 25-12.
For the Lady Tigers, Anzli Beatty totaled three kills and one dig. Lydia Beatty finished with two kills and one dig.
Brooklyn Bolender ended the match with eight assists and four digs. Izzy Clevenger had two assists at CHS.
Also for McClain, Alaya Jackson finished the match with four kills, three digs and a block. Brynlee Karnes ended with three kills and four digs. Teammate Molly McCune collected three assists, and a dig.
Lillie Saunders finished with two aces and 10 digs, while Shelby Wise had one ace and two digs.
Following the match, MHS had an overall record of 4-12 with a 1-5 mark in the FAC.

Lady ’Cats fall at home to Ripley
Playing a Southern Hills Athletic Conference match on Friday evening, the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats lost to the visiting Ripley Lady Blue Jays in three sets at Whiteoak High School.
Whiteoak lost to the Lady Blue Jays by scores of 25-12, 25-15 and 25-19.
The loss leaves WHS with an overall record of 1-11 overall and 1-8 in the SHAC Division II standings.

Hillsboro loses in 3 sets at Waverly
Traveling on Saturday for a non-conference match, the Hillsboro Lady Indians lost in three sets against the Waverly Lady Tigers in three sets.
Hillsboro fell to Waverly by scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-20.
The loss left HHS with an overall record of 10-7.
