Soccer Report: Whiteoak, McClain soccer gain Tuesday victories

Wildcats score 11 goals in win at Wellston
 

Eleven goals later, the Whiteoak Wildcats soccer team earned a non-conference win on Tuesday by defeating the Wellston Rockets 11-1. 

Whiteoak had a four-goal game from Abe Flader, and finishing with three goals was Christopher Wessner. Scoring two goals was Lucas Pollard, and with one goal each were Rowan Roades and Levi Smallwood. 

Wessner also had three assists, while Pollard collected two assists. Having one assist each were Jaden Fitzgerald, Shawn Mitchell-Cox, Roades and Smallwood. 

At goal for the Wildcats was Evan Richmond with six saves in the match. 

The win improves Whiteoak’s overall record to 4-7-0 overall this season.

Lady Tigers earn 10th win of season 


The McClain Lady Tigers continue to add to their overall win total for the 2025 season as they earned another Frontier Athletic Conference victory in the process. 

Traveling to Fayette County on Tuesday evening the Lady Tigers defeated the host Washington Lady Blue Lions with a shutout win at 5-0. 

Larah Henson was the leading scorer in the match with a two-goal performance against the Lady Blue Lions. 

Paisley Pryor scored one goal in the win, and also with one goal each were Abigail Marsh and Bailey Parson. 

This win was the third consecutive shutout win for the Lady Tigers, all FAC matches, as MHS previously defeated Hillsboro (4-0) and Chillicothe (5-0) in this current three-game winning streak. 

Thus far in seven FAC matches, McClain has allowed three goals as they improved to 6-0-1 in the FAC for first place in the  standings. 

Overall, McClain now stands at 10-1-1 on the season. 

MHS is scheduled to travel to Jackson on Thursday, Sept. 25 to face the Ironladies at 5 p.m. in FAC action. Earlier this season the Lady Tigers defeated Jackson, 3-2 at MHS.
