Fairfield drops away match to Huntington; Alyssa Bales gains 500th career dig
Facing a non-conference opponent from the Scioto Valley Conference, the Fairfield Lady Lions lost in three sets to the Huntington Lady Huntsmen on Monday evening at HHS.
Huntington won over Fairfield with scores of 25-15, 25-17 and 25-17.
During the match, Fairfield junior Alyssa Bales earned her 500th career dig.
Huntington was led in kills by Brailee Hauswirth, while they were led in aces by Lydia Black with five. Black also led Huntington with two blocks, and she had the lead in assists with 13.
Leighton Kaiser led Huntington with nine digs.

Whiteoak falls to East Clinton
In a non-conference contest Monday night (Sept. 25) the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats lost to the visiting East Clinton Lady Astros in three sets.
In the game played in the Whiteoak High School Gym, East Clinton won the three-set match by scores of 25-10, 25-7 and 25-10.

Fairfield gains road win, defeats Peebles
The Fairfield Lady Lions gained another win in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference Tuesday evening by defeating the host Peebles Lady Indians in three sets.
Fairfield won the conference match by scores of 25-9, 25-23 and 25-18.
The Lady Lions now sit at 8-1 in the SHAC Division II standings, where they are in first place. Overall, Fairfield has a record of 12-2 on the season.

Lynchburg-Clay loses SHAC match to first-place North Adams
It was a tough three-set loss for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs, as they were defeated by the first-place North Adams Lady Green Devils in Southern Hills Athletic Conference play at NAHS on Tuesday night.
The Sept. 23 loss saw the Lady Green Devils control the first set with a 25-12 score, but the second and third sets were played much closer with NAHS winning set two at 25-21, and set three North Adams won with a 25-20 score.
LCHS totaled 25 kills in the loss, with Kylie O’Connor totaling eight kills for the team lead, followed by Mattie Magee with five. Finishing with four kills each were Bre Rosselott and Halle Greene. Also with kills were Joslyn Rockey with two, Melany Stephenson with one, and also with one kill was Avery Shope.
The Lady Mustangs also had six aces against NAHS, as Shope totaled two, and with one each were Stephenson, Rockey, Magee and Greene.
Totaling 17 digs for the team lead was Rockey, while Greene finished with 11 and Stephenson totaled 10 digs. Others with recorded digs were Ava McLaughlin with six, Addy Carraher totaled two, Magee had one dig, Shope finished with three digs and O’Connor had one dig.
Lynchburg-Clay’s assists leader was McLaughlin with 13, followed by Carraher with eight, Rockey with one, and also with one assist was Greene.
Leading North Adams in kills was Emma Pistole with 15 and Ava Pistole with 10. Elizabeth Raines led the Lady Green Devils with two aces, and with the team lead in blocks with two each were both Ava Pistole and Emma Pistole.
Finishing in double figures in digs for the Lady Green Devils were Paige Evans with 17, Morgan Wheeler with 14 and Natalie Ragan with 10. Ragan also led NAHS with 31 assists.
The loss sends LCHS to an overall record of 9-5 with a 7-2 record in Division I of the SHAC. North Adams improves to 11-5 overall and are currently 10-0 in the SHAC Div. I standings.

McClain gains 5-set win in away match at WCH
The McClain Lady Tigers were winners on the court Tuesday evening in Frontier Athletic Conference play by defeating the host Washington Lady Blue Lions in a five-set match.
Washington began by winning the first set at 25-17, but McClain battled back by winning set two at 27-25 and they also won the third set with a 25-18 score.
The Lady Blue Lions tied the match score at 2-2 with a 25-13 win in the fourth set, but in the best-of-15 fifth and final set it was McClain winning by two points at 15-13 to earn the FAC victory.
