Fairfield falls to Portsmouth-Clay
Playing a non-conference contest on Tuesday (Sept. 16) the Fairfield Lions lost on the road to the Portsmouth-Clay Trojans by a 5-3 score.
The Lions had three goals from three different players, and they were Logan Burgess, Colton Durose and Aiden Teeters.
Easton Zink totaled two assists against PCHS, while Burgess also collected an assist.
Anderson Humphreys finished with five saves for the Lions.

Whiteoak falls in close match against West Union
In a Southern Hills Athletic Conference contest Wednesday evening (Sept. 17) at West Union High School, the Whiteoak Wildcats soccer team lost to the West Union Dragons by a 1-0 score.
Whiteoak keeper Evan Richmond, a freshman, totaled nine saves against the Dragons.
This season the Wildcats are 2-7-0 overall with a SHAC mark of 0-5-0. WHS has played closely against most of their opponents with two one-goal losses and two two-goal losses. One of their victories was also a one-goal win.
West Union improves to 1-5-0 in the SHAC and 3-5-0 overall.

Fairfield scores 8 goals in win over Piketon
Scoring eight goals on Thursday evening at Fairfield High School, the host Lady Lions gained a non-conference win over the Piketon Redstreaks by an 8-0 score for the shutout win.
Three of the goals went to Vivian Henninger, earning a hat trick. Two of the goals scored were by Ava Hooper, and scoring one goal each were Rilee Quickle, Cameron VanDyke and Emerson Zink.
Fairfield also totaled six assists, and they were credited to Jaylin Allgood, Henninger, Landyn Hodson and Hooper with one each, while Zink finished with two assists.
At goal for the Lady Lions were Meri Jackson and Mya McIntosh.

Whiteoak adds another win to season total
The Whiteoak Wildcats gained another victory in non-conference play on Thursday evening as they won at home against the Westfall Mustangs by a 4-1 score.
WHS left no doubt in the win as they had two goals scored by Lucas Pollard and one goal scored by Christopher Wessner. Westfall also had an own goal that went toward the final total of Whiteoak.
At goal for the Wildcats was Evan Richmond with 13 saves.
The Wildcats now stand at 3-7-0 overall this season.

Lady Indians fall to FAC foe Miami Trace
Hosting their Frontier Athletic Conference counterpart the Miami Trace Lady Panthers on Thursday, the Hillsboro Lady Indians were unable to gain the conference win on their home field, falling to MTHS, 4-2.
Both of Hillsboro’s goals were scored by Kobie Miles.
HHS is now 3-2-0 in the FAC and 5-5-0 overall.

Indians shut out by Panthers
The Hillsboro Indians boys soccer team was held scoreless against their Frontier Athletic Conference opponent, the Miami Trace Panthers on Thursday at Hillsboro High School.
Miami Trace defeated the Indians 4-0 in the FAC match.
The Indians now stand at 2-2-1 in the FAC and 3-6-1 overall.

McClain Lady Tigers defeat Chillicothe
A strong winning effort was on display for the McClain Lady Tigers on Thursday (Sept. 18) as they traveled to Ross County and returned home with a Frontier Athletic Conference victory over the Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers.
McClain won with a shutout by a 5-0 score and did so with a two-goal performance by Addison Olaker, plus goals were scored by Paisley Pryor, Baylee Hickok and Mylie Lovett.
Assists were made by Becca Bergstrom, Olaker and Allie Burgess.
At goal in the shutout for McClain was Leah Lovett with three saves.
The win improved the Lady Tigers to 9-1-1 overall and 5-0-1 in the FAC.

Tigers fall to Chillicothe
McClain Tigers boys soccer traveled to Chillicothe on Thursday, and though they played with great effort in the Frontier Athletic Conference contest, but they suffered a 3-2 loss against the host Chillicothe Cavaliers.
Both goals for McClain were scored by Creed Davis. On Davis’ second goal he was assisted by Case Robbins.
At goal for McClain was Zayne Knisley with nine saves.
The Tigers now stand at 3-8-0 overall and 0-5-0 in the FAC.

Mustangs tie with Western Brown
In a big non-conference battle on Thursday at Western Brown High School, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs and the Western Brown Broncos finished with a tied score after 80 minutes of play.
Lynchburg-Clay’s goal was scored by Elam Faust with the assist from Quin Wells.
At goal for LCHS was Tanner Roberts with six saves.

Lady Mustangs shut out by Lady Broncos
Traveling to Mt. Orab for a non-conference match on Thursday, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs lost against the host Western Brown Lady Broncos by a 3-0 score.
Caitlyn Collins finished with 12 saves for Lynchburg-Clay.
The Lady Mustangs are now 4-4-0 overall this season.

Fairfield win battle against Wheelersburg
Playing a non-conference opponent on Saturday the Fairfield Lady Lions defeated the Wheelersburg Lady Tigers in a high-scoring match by a 6-5 score.
Vivian Henninger scored three goals against Wheelersburg at WBHS for the hat trick. Also with goals in the one-goal win were Brya Fauber, Ava Hooper and Rilee Quickle.
Assists went to Ruby Henninger, Vivian Henninger, Hooper, Quickle and Emerson Zink.
Meri Jackson finished with six saves.
The win improves FHS to 8-3-0 overall.

Playing another strong non-conference opponent on Saturday, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs lost to the visiting South Webster Jeeps by a 1-0 score.
At goal for the Mustangs was Tanner Roberts with nine saves.
LCHS now has an overall record of 6-2-1 this season.
