The journey to being one of the favorites at the OHSAA Division III State Cross-Country Tournament has been a process of building a state-ranked program for a number of years. At one time, the Lions didn’t make the yearly visit to the state tournament, and now this year they are a team to beat as they have runners capable of bringing home the hardware in what is the final race of the 2017 season.

Two years in a row, the Fairfield Lions keep adding to their program’s prestige by winning a Division III Regional championship, placing first at Pickerington North High School, plus stamping their ticket to the OHSAA State Tournament for the fifth consecutive year.
