The Ohio Valley Hoops Classic tips off Friday night at the Patriot Center on the campus of Southern State Community College. It promises to be a great two days of basketball and more for local fans.

In between are games featuring some elite teams and players. Princeton’s Darius Bazley is the No. 9 rated senior in the nation, according to ESPN’s top 100. The Vikings take on Xenia at 9 p.m. on Friday. Xenia features Samari Curtis, who has offers from UC and Xavier.
On Saturday afternoon, the defending state runner-up in Kentucky, Cooper High School, battles Hilliard Bradley. Both teams feature Division I college prospects, and both are capable of a deep tournament run in March.
At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Cincinnati Moeller, the odds-on favorite to capture the Ohio Division I championship, squares off against Eastmoor Academy, a state Final Four team a year ago. Moeller’s Jaxson Hayes has signed to play for Texas next season, and Eastmoor’s Taevion Kinsey is considered by many as the most athletic player in the state.
Also on Saturday afternoon, local rivals East Clinton and Fairfield square off at 4:30 p.m. On Friday, the Wilmington Hurricane take on Campbell County, Ky. at 7:30 p.m.
One fan each game will have an opportunity to win big prizes in the halftime shootout. The Hometown Showcase travels to high schools and colleges across the country delivering career and scholarship opportunities to students.
