Gaining the run-rule victory on Tuesday (April 30), the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs stayed in contention for the Division I Southern Hills Athletic Conference championship, defeating the West Union Dragons, 12-2 at LCHS. 

Twelve hits led to 11 runs for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs on Tuesday (April 30), as they earned a Southern Hills Athletic Conference win over the West Union Lady Dragons by a 11-0 score in five innings. 

Going on the road for their Monday (April 29) Southern Hills Athletic Conference game at Fayetteville, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs suffered a 3-2 loss on the softball diamond. 

Winning in run-rule fashion on Monday evening, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs defeated the host Fayetteville Rockets, 12-2 in five innings to secure a Southern Hills Athletic Conference win. 

In their two most recent Southern Hills Athletic Conference games on Thursday and Friday (April 25-26), the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs won one and lost one by defeating Ripley and falling to Peebles. 

Thursday and Friday evenings in Southern Hills Athletic Conference contests, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs gained two consecutive victories by defeating Ripley Blue Jays, followed by a Friday win over the Peebles Indians, as Friday’s game included Braedon West tossing a no-hitter.

The Southeast District of the OHSAA released the 2024 softball tournament brackets Sunday afternoon.

After falling on Monday night to the Eastern Warriors in Southern Hills Athletic Conference action, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs returned the favor against the conference rival, by defeating the Warriors at EHS by a 7-6 score. 

For a second consecutive day, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs faced the Eastern Lady Warriors, where they gained a second straight SHAC win by defeating the Lady Warriors at EHS by a 5-4 score Tuesday. 

On Tuesday, McClain High School hosted a boys and girls tri-meet against Lynchburg-Clay and Miami Trace. 

The Area 5 Soil and Water Conservation Districts held their Annual Envirothon April 23 at Camp Oyo in West Portsmouth. The competition is designed to stimulate, reinforce and enhance interest in the environment and natural resources among high school students.

The battle of the top two teams in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference Division I standings went to the Eastern Warriors on Monday, as they defeated the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs, 7-5 at LCHS. 

Scoring all five runs in the first four innings on Monday (April 22), the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs defeated the Eastern Lady Warriors, 5-2 at LCHS.

The Lynchburg-Clay softball team gained a Southern Hills Athletic Conference victory Saturday (April 20) by defeating the host West Union Lady Dragons, 10-0 at WUHS.
