Trailing by 20 points entering the fourth quarter of their Division II SE District Sectional Final game against the No. 6 seeded Jackson Ironladies, the No. 11 seeded Hillsboro Lady Indians had 32 points combined in the first three quarters, but HHS finished the game with 63 points following a 31-point fourth quarter.
The Hillsboro Indians had one of their own named the 2023-24 Frontier Athletic Conference Player of the Year, as it was announced on Saturday afternoon that junior Tate Davis was named the POY by the coaches of the conference.

At one point of their Frontier Athletic Conference game Tuesday at Miami Trace High School, the Hillsboro Indians trailed by as many as 15 points to start the fourth quarter.
Coach Brad Haithcock led the Hillsboro fourth grade team to 9-0 for the season to repeat the undefeated season they had as third graders. This youth Hillsboro team is also coached by Latrell Haithcock, Nick Fauber and David Fauber.
After going on a 10-game streak with two wins and eight losses, all of that is in the rearview mirror for the Hillsboro Indians, as they have learned from their hard times and have regained their winning ways.
Earlier this season, the Hillsboro Indians lost on the road to the Washington Blue Lions by 13 points, but on Thursday night in Hillsboro, that wasn’t the case.
The Hillsboro Lady Indians won their regular-season finale on Wednesday night (Feb. 7), as they won at home against the Wilmington Lady Hurricane, 51-48.
Though the Hillsboro Indians didn’t trail the entire game, and the score was tied once, the win was a battle for the visiting Indians as their Highland County showdown with the host Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs saw LCHS make the score close on more than one occasion.
For the second time this season, the Hillsboro Indians earned a win against their Highland County rival and Frontier Athletic Conference counterpart, with HHS defeating the visiting McClain Tigers, 54-38.
Saturday afternoon saw the final battle of the season between the host Hillsboro Lady Indians and McClain Lady Tigers, and the second and final round of the Highland County rivalry went to the visiting McClain squad, winning by a 44-38 score.
