The 2025 Highland County girls soccer season is about to start, as four teams from the county will battle in the Frontier Athletic Conference or the Southern Hills Athletic Conference.

All four teams return the same head coaches they’ve had for multiple seasons, and it shows because all four programs have built solid foundations for their schools to keep moving forward in their overall progression of success.

Some of the teams from Highland County battled in district rounds a season ago, many have some top returning key players from the ’24 season, and all four teams have players wanting to take the next step in showcasing their skills at a high level.

The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs have won six consecutive district championships and 11 in the past 12 seasons, plus in SHAC competition they’ve not had a loss in 98 consecutive games.

Hillsboro won 11 games a season ago as they look to keep moving in a positive direction for the ’25 season. McClain is coming off a 12-win season and returns their leading scorer. Fairfield won 13 games in ’23, as all four Highland County teams won no less than 11 games in ’24.
