McClain’s Sterling 3rd in FAC No. 2 girls golf event

The second Frontier Athletic Conference girls golf event took place on Thursday (Aug. 14) at the Franklin Valley Golf Club and was hosted by the Jackson Ironladies. 

Jackson won the FAC No. 2 event with a team score of 198, while Washington was second place at 216. 

The third place finish went to Chillicothe with the Lady Cavaliers carding a 216 score, followed by Miami Trace in fourth place with a team score of 224. In fifth place was McClain at 229, and sixth place was Hillsboro with a 244 score. 

Faith Wynne won the event as the Washington senior had a score of 40 in the nine-hole event. Second place individually was Jackson senior Aubrey Arnold at 41.

In third place was McClain senior Kaylin Sterling with a score of 43. Rounding our the Top 5 finishers were Jackson junior Ava Jenkins with a 47 score and Chillicothe senior Qiuchengxi Su, also with a score of 47.

Scores for McClain also included: Autumn Uhrig (58), Maguire Ross (62), Sarah Kegley (66), Emma Marsh (66), and Laycee Watson (68). 

Hillsboro scores included Brianna Foxx (58), Rylea Scarberry (60), Emarey Schurman (63), Ann Boyd (63), and Ryan Beyersdoerfer (67).
