Outstanding youth are being recognized by the announcement of this year’s winners of the Lisa A. Kisling Memorial Scholarships.  These scholarships were established to assist youth who have been active in Highland County 4-H, FFA, or Farm Bureau.  Each winner will receive a $500 scholarship that will be awarded at the Junior Beef Show at this year’s Highland County Fair on Thursday, September 9.

The following Highland County residents, listed by community, have been named to the Spring 2010 Dean's List at Chatfield College.

Each character sees the painting from their own perspective, whether they are Ben and Nancy, a struggling couple (played by Reid Lyle and Jessica Morris) or an angered evangelist (Benjamin Gullett). On the outside, looking in, a sensitive young artist (Paul Davis) sits at the edge of each scene, watching as the museum guests become humorous sketches themselves.

The following are the results of the Stamp Out Hunger drawing contest for several local schools.

Ricky and Terry Workman, graduates of Edward Lee McClain High School, received bachelor of arts degrees from The College of Wooster during commencement exercises on May 10.

The Buckskin Elementary School Students of the Month for April were: Madison Moore, Austin Fooce, Halei Knotts, Zaine Hickok, Seth Beatty, Jacki Penwell, Natalie Rolfe and Cassie Strahler.

St. Mary Catholic School is accepting pre-school through fourth grade students for the 2010-2011 school year.

On May 11, the students of St. Mary Catholic School participated in the May Crowning.
