Hillsboro City Schools & FRS Counseling will be participating in the annual Ohio Red Ribbon Celebration October 23-31, 2009. The red ribbon symbol began more than 20 years ago when family and friends of a slain federal Drug Enforcement Administration agent wore red ribbons to honor his memory. The nationwide non-profit Drug-Free Action Alliance organizes Ohio’s Red Ribbon Celebration and has chosen the theme: WE ELECT TO BE DRUG FREE.

The First Annual Hillsboro Elementary PTO Carnival will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 4-7 p.m. The event will feature fun, food, games, and prizes, with craft booths and both live and silent auctions for extravagant "themed" gift baskets.
On Thursday, October 8, Bright Elementary held its first Bright Night. The theme was "Harvest Fest". There were many activities including a pumpkin decorating contest, measuring/weighing pumpkins, learning about crops grown in Ohio, and a brief description of our Title program.
