Highland SWCD Conservation Poster Contest Winners

By
-
Students from all of the Highland County Middle Schools were given an opportunity to design a poster with the theme “Forests For People: More Than You Can Imagine!”

The posters were created on paper grocery bags donated by Hillsboro Kroger’s.  The top three poster winners from each school received a Highland SWCD cinch bag donated by the Highland Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD).

Each of the top school posters were then judged for the overall top four county poster winners, which will receive cash awards during the Highland SWCD’s Annual Meeting October 13th located at the Highland County Training & Employment Center (He-Tec) in Hillsboro.

The County posters cash awards are sponsored by the Highland County Farm Bureau. The 2011 Conservation Poster contest winners are: first place, Lindsey Lawson from Lynchburg-Clay, second place, Hunter Tira from Hillsboro; third place, Harlie Lawhorn from Lynchburg-Clay and fourth place, Desiree Ames from Bright Local.[[In-content Ad]]
