        The Highland County Senior Center will hold a cake decorating competition on Saturday, June 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    On May 5, the Lynchburg Boy Scouts Troop 120 participated in a community project which involved planting flowers around the Emergency entrance signage in front of Highland District Hospital. Thanks to each of you who donated your time and talent to the landscaping at HDH.

    Once again, the Freestore Foodbank delivered approximately 5,000 pounds of meat, dairy, canned goods, fresh vegetables, and bakery items to the Fairfield community on Friday, May 14, thanks to the generosity of the Leesburg Chapter #57 Order of the Eastern Star.

Their first day of business was Tuesday, May 18. Swift, who is a hair dresser as well as the business owner, invites anyone in need of a haircut, new hairstyle, pedicure or interested in professional styling tools, to stop by. Swift and her staff, which includes hair dresser Kristi Waters, nail technician Beth Coleman, and hair dresser Tiffany Shaw, offer the only Paul Mitchell salon service in the county.
