    Southern State Community College will present guest speaker Dona Grant on the topic of homestead gardening 6 p.m. Thursday, May 6, in the Learning Resources Center on the college's South Campus, 12681 U.S. Route 62, Fincastle. The event is free and open to the public.

  • Loft holds talent show
    The Loft, the Good News Gathering-sponsored hangout for area teens in grades sixth through 12, held a talent show April 15. Located at 123 1/2 West Main Street in Hillsboro, approximately 70 area students turned out to hear 12 different acts perform songs, play instruments, dance, and perform magic.

    The Highland Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) celebrated the 40th anniversary of Earth Day on Sunday, April 18 with members of the Marshall United Methodist Church.

    Thanks to a terrific turnout of talented folks of all ages, Magic Waters Theatre was able to cast an entire summer of entertainment in just one weekend!
  • Sidesaddle clinic to be held in Bainbridge
    The American Sidesaddle Association and Southern Ohio Ladies Aside will be hosting a sidesaddle clinic at Under a Shooting Star Farm near Bainbridge, Ohio on April 24th from 9am-5pm. Participants will learn saddle fit, sidesaddle history, getting started, and basic to advanced sidesaddle riding including jumping. Cost is $30 for adult riders, $15 for 18 & under riders, $10 for all auditors. Auditors will get hands on experience in saddle fit and other aspects of riding aside.

Pledges were held by Claire Magie, Ty Setty, Jake Wilson.
