Susan Reedy of Wilmington is looking for the families of her grandmother, Leone Glenn Fettro, who was born April 21, 1901 in Highland County and died Dec. 1, 1924 of tuberculosis. She was the daughter of Charles Fettro (1870-1919) and Bertie Ashmore (1877-1946) of Highland County.

At the annual Rent-2-Own awards banquet, held earlier this month, Rene Vance took home the coveted leather jacket for her success as the employee of the year for 2012. Rene was recognized for her commitment and dedication to helping stores assist customers in attaining ownership of their products.

Debbie recently volunteered her 1,000th hour at HDH. Debbie became a volunteer out of her desire to help people. She says that she enjoys volunteering at Highland District Hospital because she enjoys seeing a lot of different people, and she enjoys being able to help.

Cheryl Withrow recently accepted an executive director position at Senior Independence. She manages the day-to-day operations of the Southwest Ohio and Miami Valley offices, which cover the home health care and hospice needs in 14 Ohio counties, including several retirement villages and adult day centers and one senior center.

The Rocky Fork Community Alliance, along with the Highland County Sheriff's Office, is undertaking the reorganization of the Neighborhood Community Watch around the Rocky Fork Lake area. A community meeting will be hosted on Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. at the AmVets, located on North Shore Drive.

The Lynchburg Lions Club sponsors its annual Peace Poster contest each fall. The club encourages middle school students to develop a special poster on a theme related to promoting world peace. The top three winners this year in order were Allie Stroop, Kaylee Shrader and Alyssa Woodall.
