The Highland County Board of Commissioners held their 2017 organizational meeting Monday, Jan. 9. By a 2-0 vote following a nomination by Jeff Duncan and a second by Terry Britton, Shane Wilkin was again voted as chairman/president of the board. Wilkin abstained from the vote.

Congressman Brad Wenstrup (Ohio-02) was sworn into the 115th Congress on Jan. 3. This will be Congressman Wenstrup’s third term serving Ohio’s Second District.

In his first media announcement of the New Year, Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted announced today that the state’s new online voter registration system has gone live at midnight. “Raise a glass of champagne, offer a toast, get online and register to vote,” Husted said.
