Two vintage field guns that stand by the Greenfield City Hall war memorial are looking sharp, thanks in part to Greenfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4736, which paid half the cost of the repairs to the wheels on the artillery pieces.

Greenfield staff members helped to locate a wheelwright with the skills to make repairs to the wheels on the big guns, and the work was completed by Levi Hershberger in late 2016.

Village Council Chairwoman Betty Jackman expressed her thanks to the VFW for their help on the project.
