On Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 12:40 a.m., officers of the Greenfield Police Department executed a search warrant at 421 Mill St. The warrant was obtained after an investigation of drug activity at the residence.

Ohio's unemployment rate was 9.2 percent in February, down slightly from the revised 9.3 percent in January, according to data released by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS). Ohio's nonfarm wage and salary employment increased 13,600 over the month, from the revised 5,068,300 in January to 5,081,900 in February.

A Greenfield man was found to be in violation of his community control Thursday in Highland County Common Pleas Court, and the presiding judge said the root of the defendant's problem was that he was "a jerk."
 Richard Jones, of Greenfield, appeared in court with his attorney J.D. Wagoner for an evidentiary hearing on the alleged violation reported to the court by the Highland County Adult Parole Authority. Jones was on community control from an initial charge of having weapons under disability.

The city of Greenfield is weighing its options on what will happen if they are officially classified as a village following the release of 2010 Census numbers.

A member of a tree trimming crew was transported by helicopter with severe injuries after a car crash left the man pinned between a vehicle and a wood chipper.
 According to Highland County Sheriff Ron Ward, at approximately 2:16 p.m. Wednesday on Main Road, just south of the intersection at State Route 124, a tree trimming crew was working in the area of the roadway.

The Highland County Convention and Visitor's Bureau Board of Trustees has pared down the pool of applicants for the CVB's executive director's position to five people.
 CVB secretary treasurer Kathryn Hapner said that the board met Monday at the Highland County Senior Center, and entered into executive session for just over one hour to discuss the hiring of a director.
