Carey sworn in as state representative
State Representative John Carey (R-Wellston) was sworn in Jan. 3 as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives during the opening ceremonies of the 129th General Assembly.
“I’m pleased that my constituents have chosen me to represent them in Columbus and to make a difference on their behalf,” Rep. Carey said. “I truly feel that we will make strides during this General Assembly to make Ohio more competitive and successful.”
Rep. Carey is returning to the House after being term-limited as state senator. He previously served four terms as a state representative. He is the former mayor of Wellston, where he and his wife continue to reside.
During the 129th General Assembly, Rep. Carey will represent the 87th House District, which includes Gallia, Jackson and Vinton counties, as well as portions of Lawrence and Ross counties.
