  • Suspect in local theft leads law enforcement on 3-county chase
    A pursuit of a suspect connected to charges of theft in Highland County led law enforcement officers on a chase through three counties, before finally being apprehended in Brown County, according to Highland County Sheriff Ron Ward.
     Jerrod Messer Jr., 20, of Goshen, was taken into custody following the pursuit by officers with the Highland County Sheriff's Office, using the county's aircraft, and departments in Clermont, Clinton and Brown counties, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

    Republican challenger John Kasich has defeated Democratic incumbent Ted Strickland in the Ohio gubernatorial race, The Columbus Dispatch is reporting.
    Other Republicans posted big wins in Tuesday's election, statewide and locally. 
  • Shaffer unseats Heaton
    The Republican mayor of Lynchburg, Jeremy Shaffer, has unseated incumbent Democrat Gary Heaton on the Highland County Board of Commissioners.
     According to unofficial results from the Highland County Board of Elections, Shaffer received 6,113 votes and Heaton received 5,696 votes during Tuesday's general election.
  • Rosenberger wins 86th District House seat
    Clinton County Republican Cliff Rosenberger, according to unofficial results, has won the race to become Ohio's 86th House District representative.
     The 86th District is comprised of Highland, Clinton and Pike counties.
  • Stephanie Pearce Burke wins Kentucky judicial race
    Greenfield native Stephanie Pearce Burke is the projected winner of the Kentucky District Judge, 30th Judicial District, Division 14 race, according to a report by the Louisville Courier-Journal.
