Paint Valley ADAMH hosts Crisis Intervention training
The Paint Valley Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health (ADAMH) Board held the third Semi Annual Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training on Monday, June 2 through Friday, June 6.
Daymar College has proven to be a great community partner, offering their campus once again for CIT Training. The weeklong (40-hour) training was designed for law enforcement officers and first responders to react appropriately to situations involving someone with a mental illness or a developmental disability.
The CIT Planning Committee is comprised of mental health providers, law enforcement officers and Veterans Administration professionals that worked together to develop a local CIT training. This training was offered to law enforcement agencies and personnel in The Paint Valley ADAMH Board area, which consists of Fayette, Highland, Pickaway, Pike and Ross Counties.
Juni Johnson, Executive Director of the Paint Valley ADAMH Board stated, “CIT Training was a top priority in our community. It is very important to assure that we have trained officers in our board area, not only for the safety of our officers but also of our community. We are really excited to be continuing to make this training available and have plans to hold another training this fall.”

This training is funded by The Paint Valley ADAMH Board. National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Ohio provided additional funding for presenters to ensure the best training in the state would be available for our law enforcement officers.
During this week of training, local businesses donated or have given a discounted rate for the attendees' breakfast or lunch. The Paint Valley ADAMH Board would like to thank the following businesses for their generosity: Frisch’s Big Boy for providing breakfast for the entire week; Olive Garden, 7 Miles Smokehouse and Subway for providing lunch for a day; and Jerry’s Pizza for providing pizzas at a discounted cost.
Paint Valley ADAMH Board was created in 1967 to ensure the availability of community-based alcohol, drug addiction and mental health services for the residents of Fayette, Highland, Pickaway, Pike and Ross Counties. The PVADAMH Board does not directly provide services, but contracts with a network of healthcare provider agencies to provide care for persons in need.
