The Bright Elementary Fall Carnival will be held Saturday, Oct. 27 from 5-8 p.m. We are planning a fun-filled evening of games, costume contests, a raffle and a meal to help support the Bright Local Relay for Life team.

SSCC Theatre will present Henrik Ibsen’s classic play “A Doll’s House” Nov. 2-4 in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on Southern State Community College’s Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro. The Friday and Saturday performances will begin at 7:30 p.m., and the Sunday matinee will begin at 3:30 p.m.

Hillsboro High School is implementing a new student incentive program called the Ladder of Success. The purpose of the program is to provide students with small tangible incentives for improving grades, attendance and behavior, which will be monitored at the end of each midterm and nine-week quarter.
The Ohio FFA Association held their annual State Land Judging Contest on Oct. 13 at Malabar Farms located in Richland County. The Whiteoak High School team consisting of Tori Walker, Rikki Morris, Stephen Anderson and Brad Allen took home the second place honors in the urban category.
The Hillsboro Fire Department made a "safety day" visit to the Little Lamb Christian Preschool in Hillsboro Friday, Oct. 12. Firefighters discussed safety tips with the pupils and provided an opportunity for them to see a fire truck and life squad vehicle.
