Hillsboro FFA plans Adopt-A-Family 5K

This year, the Hillsboro FFA has decided to host a 5K walk/run event to raise money for Adopt-a-Family. The 5K will be held on Nov. 7 and will be at the Highland County Fairgrounds.
Pre-registration will go until Oct. 24. If you pre-register you will also receive a free T-shirt. However, day of registration will still be available for those that are still wanting to participate.
The cost of this race will be $20. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. on Nov. 7, and the walk/run will begin at 9 a.m. Water and a light snack will also be provided for attending the 5K.
Adopt-a-Family is an event where the Hillsboro FFA members buy toys and presents for families in the community during the holiday season. The FFA chapter is hoping to support at least two families.

The Hillsboro FFA has done many fundraisers for Adopt-a-Family. One of the more popular one was Pie in the Eye, where students donated money to fund Adopt-a-Family and got tickets to put in a drawing to pie either Mr. Cummings or Mrs. McNeal in the face.
The Hillsboro FFA encourages the community to come support and attend this event and give back to their community. The money raised from the race will be used to purchase the gifts and toys for the families we support this year.
For those interested in participating in this event, the registration form can be found on Hillsboro High School’s website (www.hcs-k12.org). For more information, please email Libby McNeal (emcneal@hcs-k12.org) or Brian Cummings (bcummings@hcs-k12.org).
