McClain FFA soil judging teams win districts

The McClain FFA soils team competed in the District Soils Contest on Thursday, Oct. 8. 

The Urban team placed first overall. The team consisted of Ryan Page, who placed first; Ethan Johnson was second; Jimmy Unger was third: Mat Barton was fifth; Lucas Unger was 10th; and Brock Dean placed 12th. There were a total of 73 members competing in the Urban contest.

The Rural team also placed first overall. The team was made up of Ethan Cockerill, who was first; Emily Jones was third; Eric Anderson was fourth; Bryn Karnes placed 11th; Zane Mustard was 30th; and Trevor Dalton was 35th. There was a total of 100 members competing in the Rural contest. 

Both McClain teams advanced to the state contest.
