Five UC Clermont College geology students traveled to Seattle Oct. 21-25 to publish and present their research to approximately 8,000 geologists during the Geological Society of America’s international conference.

The Lynchburg Lions Club and Lions Clubs International sponsored their annual Peace Poster contest again this fall. The Lynchburg club encourages middle school students to develop a special poster on a theme related to promoting world peace. A total of 87 students participated in the local contest.

This semester, the Hillsboro FFA business class has been growing and marketing poinsettias and learning about the business aspects of running a greenhouse.

On Friday, Nov. 10, the Hillsboro FFA chapter hosted Leadership Night at the elementary school. All the FFA chapters in the county came and participated.

More than 150 scholarship recipients, donors, faculty, staff and friends of the University of Cincinnati Clermont College gathered on Nov. 8 on the college’s Batavia campus for the 2017 Donor Appreciation and Scholarship Luncheon. The event underlined the importance of donor-funded scholarships to the education and lives of students through several keynote speakers.

Students can spend two years taking courses at Southern State’s North Campus in Wilmington that can seamlessly transfer into a bachelor’s degree program at Wilmington College — with an opportunity to reside on WC’s campus all fours years.
